All bands and acts featured are skilled and highly versatile musicians. For example if you require musical entertainment for a wedding or corporate function and you are looking for background music for the beginning of the evening followed by a traditional dance band, Sax and Acts can provide an "all-in-one" band hire package at an extremely competitive price. The client no longer has to phone round several different outlets to get what they want.

Bands Suitable for Weddings and Functions

All of the bands and acts associated with Sax and Acts are wary of customers needs with regard to the material required to maximise their enjoyment and will perform a music set tailored to meet the needs of the audience, not to suit themselves! How often have you attended a wedding, cabaret or club function where the band were either too loud or too quiet or didn't play a style of music to suit the audience?

Music Styles Available from our Function Bands

All of our acts are able to perform styles ranging from Dixieland and Swing to Country and Western to Rock'n'roll; from Sixties music to Eighties music to current chart music. We also cater for customers who may be looking for something a little different, such as solo instrumentalists or classical performers for your functions or events.

• John Kennedy: a self-contained solo instrumentalist using saxophones, flute and clarinet.
• Classical Blue: acoustic duo using saxophone/clarinet/flute with piano accompaniment providing ideal background music for corporate events, weddings, restaurants and hotels.
• Bluesette: A self-contained act comprising of: vocals/trumpet with keyboards, saxophone, clarinet and flute - "a top dance band"
• Shelley Blue: A completely self-contained act with female vocalist, keyboards and saxophone - "the dinner dance specialists
• Moondance: A highly versatile, 5 -piece function band led by Steve McGill on vocals and trumpet.

An important consideration for all our customers is the volume level. Volume levels are all too easily overlooked but are crucial to the audience's enjoyment and can be a major factor in a successful evening's entertainment. Many a great band can lose its appeal by simply playing too loud.

All of the bands and acts are experienced in performing at all volume levels, from quiet background music through talkable levels for conferences and dinner dances all the way up to to concert levels.

Please inform me when making an enquiry exactly the type of evening you are planning, e.g. is it a reunion, is it a silver wedding, a golden wedding or other anniversary where many of the guests are hoping to chat and where they would not want the band to be too loud, or, is it a party night or corporate function where all the guests are in the mood to dance until the small hours where they would like the band to play at a louder volume. All our bands and acts can vary the size of amplification, lights etc, to suit the customers' requirements.

Music Tuition

Private woodwind and saxophone tuition is provided on a one- to-one or small group basis for pupils of any age either preparing for standard grade/higher/associated board exams or anyone wishing to learn a woodwind instrument for purely recreational basis.
